DESCRIPTION:Barry Jurgensen\, a history teacher from Arlington\, Nebraska\, will stop at the Hitchcock House on his journey retracing the escape of two ex-slaves in a 500 mile journey from Nebraska City\, Nebraska\, to Chicago\, Illinois. Barry's goal is to use the history of slavery in America to shed light on the existence of modern-day slavery\, known as human trafficking. He is partnering with the Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives\, a public charity whose aim is to reduce the vulnerability of children to human trafficking by educating students and coordinating community resources. Doug Jones\, Iowa State Society Archeologist will provide a review on the Underground Railroad research in Iowa.
