Christmas in Atlantic
The Des Moines Register calls Atlantic one of Iowa's holiday, "...bright spots where Main Street retail is robust."
From Thanksgiving to New Years, Atlantic is Iowa's City of Lights! Be dazzled by more than 200,000 LED lights in a stretch of 6 blocks of historic buildings filled with gift shops, clothing stores and boutiques. Check out some of the Atlantic Area Chamber events while enjoying Christmas in Atlantic.
Grand Lighting
Light up historic downtown with a sparkling cider toast welcoming Santa and his reindeer to town and the unveiling of Santa’s new hand-built chair at Grand Lighting on November 19th, sponsored by CornerStone Landscaping and Precision Concrete Services, at 6:00 PM in the Atlantic City Park. There will be free horse-drawn carriage rides sponsored by A-Z Farms, First Whitney Bank & Trust and Wells Fargo Bank, hot coco and popcorn in Santa’s Cabin sponsored by the Atlantic Rotary Club, Santa’s Reindeer sponsored by Atlantic Animal Health Center, Geis Perry, Hy-Vee, Marne & Elkhorn Telephone Company, McCurdy Investments, Megan Roberts State Farm, Nishna Valley Credit Union and Renew Ag Supply from 5:30-7:30 PM and the Chamber’s Annual Recipe Walk from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
Snowflake Drop
Join us for the 1st Annual Snowflake Drop, November 19th in Downtown Atlantic. The Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with your favorite local businesses to provide a snow shower full of spectacular savings for the Holiday Season. Beginning at 5:30 pm before Grand Lighting, snowflakes will be dropped from the sky for the community to “scoop up” and save. Sponsored by McDermott & Son Roofing. and Brown's Shoe Fit Co.
