The final legislative coffee for the 2015 session will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Lewis Activity Center, 506 West Main, Lewis. "We've had a great turnout for our first two legislative coffees," says Clarke Gerlock, vice-president of the Progressive Rural Iowa Development Enterprise, the sponsoring organization. "We've talked a lot about a variety of topics, especially education. The great thing about these events is that our legislators, Rep. Jack Drake, and Senator Tom Shipley, get to hear our views on what?s important to us. They take this information back to the Capitol with them and frame their decisions with our comments in mind as they consider how their vote will impact our lives."
P.R.I.D.E. is the economic development organization that works on behalf of communities, businesses, and citizens for Southwest Iowa development. For additional information, please contact Clarke Gerlock at 712-774-5476, or Kenner Baxter, president, at 781-2395.
