Small businesses across Iowa depend on credit cards and electronic payment systems to serve customers, access capital, and manage day‑to‑day operations. But proposed federal changes—particularly the Credit Card Competition Act (Durbin‑Marshall)—could weaken fraud protections, reduce access to credit, and diminish the rewards programs many businesses and customers rely on.
During this session, we’ll highlight the work of the Small Business Payments Alliance (SBPA), a national coalition giving small business owners a unified voice to advocate for policies that keep our payments system strong
