Young Professionals of Atlantic Awards Recipients
 
The Young Professionals of Atlantic, along with Megan Roberts State Farm and the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce, announce the 2nd Annual YPA Gala award recipients.  The gala was held Wednesday, April 29th at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club.
 
Every volunteer, community member, organization and business has a compelling story to tell,” said Lucas Mosier, YPA Vice President. “Today, we are going to share a small piece of our story.”
 
The awards, presented by Renew Ag Supply, recognized the achievements of young professionals who demonstrate a commitment to excellence and innovation in his/her profession and community.
 
The Public Servant of the Year went to Lora Kanning of Cass County Conservation, presented by Roger Herring, Atlantic Parks & Recreation Director. “Lora is a perfect fit for her job. She is passionate and incredibly educated in her field. She is also very involved with the Young Professionals and is an overall very positive individual,” commented Herring.
 
Newcomer of the Year went to Dan Mehmen of The Principal Financial Group and Darryl D. Smith Company, presented by Ouida Wymer of the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce. “Dan shops local and understands the importance of supporting local businesses and building relationships between businesses in Atlantic,” mentioned Wymer. “Upon his arrival into the community, he instantly got involved with Jaycees, Young Professionals, and many other volunteering opportunities.”
 
Congratulations to Tricia Brosam for receiving the Entrepreneur of the Year award, presented by Brandi Eckles of Lou Lou’s (2014 Entrepreneur of the Year). “Tricia has been a long time resident of Atlantic and is an upstanding citizen,” said Eckles. “Upon opening her business, this individual is booked-full constantly showcasing the pride and passion she puts into her work.”
 
The YPA Business Leader of the Year was awarded to Kevin Wieser of Brown’s Shoe Fit, presented by Dave Chase. “Kevin is not only a phenomenal member to his business, but an asset to this community and our retail culture,” mentioned Chase. “He works hard to get people involved and do what he can to make this community a better place to work and live.”
 
Congratulations to Cass County Health System for winning the YPA Choice Workplace of the Year award, presented by Megan Roberts. “Cass County Health System provides great opportunities for young professionals,” stated Roberts. “They have programs and policies supporting this effort including: competitive salaries and benefits, tuition reimbursement, mentoring, continuing education and opportunities for professional growth.”
